Dear Delegates, Sponsors, and Guests of HIMUNC IX,
On behalf of the entire HIMUNC Secretariat, welcome to HIMUNC! We are incredibly excited to welcome you to this year’s conference and begin what we hope will be an unforgettable experience filled with debate, diplomacy, collaboration, and growth.
Model United Nations is about more than speeches, resolutions, and parliamentary procedure. It is about stepping into the shoes of a world leader, understanding perspectives different from your own, and working with others to address some of the most complex challenges facing our world. Most importantly, it is about recognizing that meaningful change begins with people who are willing to speak up, listen, and take action.
This year, we invite you to Be the Change.
Be the delegate who brings a new perspective to the room. Be the voice that challenges an idea respectfully. Be the person who finds common ground when compromise seems impossible. Whether this is your first conference or your tenth, we encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and make your presence count.
Our Secretariat, staff, and chairs have worked hard to create a conference where every delegate has the opportunity to learn, connect, and make an impact. We hope HIMUNC challenges you not only to become a stronger delegate, but also to become a more thoughtful leader beyond the committee room.
As you prepare for the conference, remember that change does not happen simply because we talk about it. It happens when we choose to act. So come prepared to debate, collaborate, lead, and, above all, Be the Change.
